Pit Notes No. 1: Monday at Willow, Saturday in Big Bear
Monday was supposed to be a work day
It wasn't.
We spent it at Streets of Willow with a paddock full of PCA folks. Fourteen turns, a lot of laps, and that old “Fastest Road in the West” sign keeping everybody honest.
We brought some gear along too, stuff we're putting through its paces before it ever shows up in the shop. Can't say much yet. When something earns its spot, you'll hear about it here first.
The five numbers that matter
Shopping for wheels? Here's the cheat sheet, using our MB373:
- 20×9.5 — 20 inches tall, 9.5 inches wide.
- 5x114.3 — five lugs on a 114.3 mm circle. That's the Model 3 and Model Y pattern.
- 64.1 mm hub — same as Tesla's, so the wheel centers itself.
- +25 offset — how far the face sits out. This is where flush comes from.
- Fits — Model Y and Model 3, except the Model 3 Performance.
